Polishing
A polished edge refers to an edge that has either been flat polished (common on rectangular panels) or round and polished (common on circles and ovals).
Monash Glass polishes all glass in house.
Beveling
Beveling is a unique type of edge work that gives a bordered look to the panel of glass. Monash Glass bevel both straight and shaped edges in house ensuring quality and fast lead times.
Polished mitres
We can process polished mitres in a range of angles.
Rippled edge
Rippled edge work (sometimes referred to as scalloped edge work) is an old style of edge work all but lost to today’s glass cutters. Our head glass cutter has over 40 years experience and can still produce an impressive rippled edge.
Holes and cut outs
Drilling holes
A wide range of hole sizes available
Cutouts
A wide range of cutouts are processed in-house including hinge cutouts, power point cutouts, fan hole cutouts and cat/dog door cutouts.
Finger grips
Although not strictly a cutout, finger grips are groves ground into the face of a glass panel to allow for easy grip on sliding panels.
Toughening
All toughened glass supplied by Monash Glass meets AS/NZS 2008: 1996.
Toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal treatments to increase its strength when compared to normal glass. When broken the glass crumbles into small granular pieces as opposed to large shards of glass which greatly reduces the risk of injury.
Toughened glass is commonly used for shower screens, splash backs and pool fencing.
Monash Glass can supply toughened glass in thicknesses ranging from 4mm to 10mm.
Consumables and PPE
We supply a range of glass related products, consumables and personal protective equipment (PPE).
